Interview withCorinne Clark Barron (@corinneclark)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Growing up we talked most about two things: baseball and politics. I was never any good at playing baseball so when I put my passions to work I had to settle on politics. I worked in digital fundraising for nearly a decade before founding where I focus more on commentary and exposing the political bias in the media. I love it because it gives me a chance to do what I love without any serious boundaries. We are biased. We are sarcastic. And we are entertaining. And we never have an off season like they do in baseball

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

Growing up I always thought the “analysts” on the news were always subject matter experts with so much time to prepare. As a guest on cable news I’ve learned quickly we all have 5 seconds notice and we’re winging it most of the time. I just imagine the best contributors are extremely passionate about so many topics because you’re not given a lot of time to fake it..

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

I think we all get a little burned out sometimes – especially when a news cycle happens to be hyper focused on an issue that just really isn’t our jam. The good thing is remembering it’s never permanent and it’ll change before you know it – and if that’s not soon enough – just have a glass of wine.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I’ve been so lucky to have great mentors in my career but my ultimate guide has always been my mom. She’s the one who always told me to follow my passions and was always the first fan of any project I was working on. Plus, she taught me how to argue. I always say… everything I am so vocal about now, for better or worse, is definitely her fault so write her the hatemail instead of me. Ha.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Over the past few years media bias has become so overwhelming it’s absolute madness. helps our subscribers put the real news in perspective. it’s become a place where we can really commiserate with like minded people on the failure of corporate media and expose the truth when it’s so clearly evident the mainstream is not going to.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Fake it till you make it!” I have always struggled with imposter syndrome and the only way I’ve ever seen progress I’ve wanted in my career is just to let all that go and act as if I belonged in the role I wanted. In my experience, everyone else is doing the same thing, too.
