Interview with Yoni Chich (@yonichich)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Music runs in my family; it was destined for me to make music; my dad is a gospel singer that writes and produces his own music, and my grandmother sang and played the piano, so music runs in my blood.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting thing was that I was opening up for an artist named Kirko Bang; it was in Cleveland. I gathered all my loved ones on a bus to drive to Cleveland to support me, we got all the way there, and Kirko told the promoters he didn’t want any local artist opening up for him, lol I was mad and upset, but that made me push and strive harder for what I really wanted, he made me start my own label titled Came From Nothin Records LLC.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Keep making music, never quit, never give up; the most successful people hustled and grind for what they have; you got to remember nothing is given to you; you have to work hard.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a person you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My brothers Kawan, Darryl, and Mike D always push me to ask why I ain’t in the studio, they want the best for me, and they always tell me, bro, you got it, you have to keep outwork the ones that are working.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have had music talent shows for artists who wanted to show and perform their music; I gave out flowers on Mothers Day, had a big cookout for the community, and gave out prizes like gift cards, T-shirts, etc.

Do you have a favourite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

I don’t really have a life lesson quote; all I can say is family, love your family and friends while they are still here.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

Well, I have Facebook, which is tommygibson614, and my Instagram page is cfntommygibson
