Interview with Suvaorg sign (@logopeedsigne)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
In my family helping other people is very common. I grew up with friends and family that wanted to spread good in the community. This eventually led me to research on what I could do professionally to help society. When I discovered speech therapy, I knew that this was the best thing for me and thus I entered into the field.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
In this field patience is key. I would suggest my colleagues to always remember they are teaching a child who learns slowly. So, if you have the energy and patience to deal with clients, then take the challenge otherwise I wouldn’t suggest engaging in it.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I wouldn’t say there was one particular person, I’m grateful towards all of my clients that I’ve dealt with. Each one of them taught me something new which led me to create new activities based on what I learned. Seeing my clients learn proper speech after a lot of practice and teaching is what makes me stand here today.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I believe verbal communication plays an important part in a person’s life. Thus, I use my skills and my knowledge to help children learn proper speech and language so they can communicate without any difficulty.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“Of all our intervention for mass communication, pictures still speak the most universally understandable language” Walt Disney. After my experience being a speech therapist, I have come to believe that the strongest technique to help someone with communication is through illustrations.
