Interview with Stevie Jordan (@_shotbysteviej_)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Stevie Jordan thee, career enhancer is me. From the inner city of Baltimore. I specialise in curating timeless art that enhances the career of the subject I’m capturing. Furthermore, I picked up my first camera at 15 (2013) in high school (new town high). My journey to enhance careers began at a young age. It was up to me to capture everyone in their element. Turned out to be an outlet for me to communicate happiness through art. As I would photograph the students and teachers, I noticed that everyone would smile when they were my focus. The smiles I received excited me; they gave me an extra push to keep moving forward and continue expressing my happiness. My first camera was a t2i canon rebel my grandmother purchased. Heavily invested in learning more about the camera, I realized that my camera could record video; my life changed. I began to curate & grow. The rest is history. Welcome to the journey! Select clients include Nike, apple, Interscope, uninterrupted, puma, fox sports, Odell Beckham jr., dr. dre, Ella Mai, Nipsey hu$$le, magic johnson, big sean, Travis Scott, ty Dolla $ign, Kofi scribe, shame Moore, kiersy Clemons, j. cole. Stevie Jordan is currently the photographer & filmmaker for Lil reek

Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I went through a time when I had writer’s block, and I wasn’t taking time for myself; it’s essential to have a healthy balance in life in everything we do. Always remember that.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Remember to stay connected to all kinds of people to keep those creative ideas flowing.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a person you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My wonderful family, mom and dad, god, and all of my support, I’d also like to thank Al Haymon, Tahron Rose, Tory Lanz, Peter Walbeck, all the students and staff at full-time filmmaker & Los Angles film school with these fantastic and artistic people and great institutions I wouldn’t be where I am today.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

A Guy from West Baltimore, who would have ever known a flower could grow from concrete. Stevie Jordan, 26 traveling photographer & film director, has made his name from his camera. “Shot by Stevie J” is what they call him. His love for photography & film grew in months and became his passion. He has been on the ride non-stop for the past six years, perfecting his craft and working with notable names all across the country. Stevie is unique because he dedicates every second of his day to helping improve his work. He has worked with some of Baltimore’s most prominent athletes: Lorenzo “TRUCK” Simpson & Gervonta “TANK” Davis.

Stevie has been featured in up to 4 magazines in his short career. Stevie has made a name taking over the music industry, working with up-and-coming artists’ Stay down Trevv’ & a few other big words. Coming from Baltimore, it’s not very easy to make a name due to the crab-in-the-barrel mentality. Yet, the people of Baltimore have grown to love Stevie Stevie is not your average 26-year-old. He’s a boss, a leader, an innovator of his time. He has a mission to change the narrative of Baltimore by helping people of all levels reach their full potential. Last year, he visited hospitals throughout Maryland to educate patients with disabilities and learn how to use a camera. Now he is creating a non-profit that will give opportunities to millions of people to excel in the creative world. He plans to allow the camera to lead people down a path to success. Now that Stevie is coming up with huge plans for the culture. He introduces his FIRST EVER “Eyetagraphy class” that will educate people on working a camera, shooting a camera, and editing pictures. This class will eventually be a continuation course, so this can be an opportunity that schools begin to inherit alongside Stevie. Stay connected with Stevie Jordan.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Stay focused on your dream and don’t let anyone tell you that it’s impossible; understand that not everyone will see your vision right away; it’s up to you to bring it to life.
