Interview with Simone Roundtree Harris (@investhersimome)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Well, with my background being in communications it gave me the basis of, you know public speaking and just generally knowing what can be the right questions to ask, but later I realized that this is a tool; it is something that can be very useful to help people in my community and people around me. The rest, as they say is history, I started to develop interest in investment opportunities and carried everything along since then.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

A very simple trick, to not only survive in this rat race industry, but also to become trustworthy to your clients is just knowing everything by heart! The rules, the laws, the changing policies, what will benefit your client the most and what might put them in danger is also applicable to you as a service provider so, my advice is to learn, learn and learn and that also won’t burn you out!

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My coworkers are my partners with everything I do! The most supportive people who’ve always got my back, and to go back to the origin, my mom is my motivator and my inspiration at all times.

Have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I try, I honestly find this feeling of sharing knowledge very humanistic and just very real to the essence of being happy. And I try to always bring out young kids who want to do better but need an adult’s guidance, so helping these young buds is my little change to make this world a better place.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My mum has always been teaching me to be righteous. Just to have one person in your life who can be trustworthy is so reassuring, so being that person is very important to me, and so my quote would be “trust is like paper, once torn it can not be put together”.
