Interview with Shareef Sief (@shareef.seif.bridal)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Clothes are a brilliant expression of oneself. I have always loved designing and putting things that work well together, so I started doing that with clothes. Thus, my interest grew and I followed the path of designers and continued my journey to building my own brand and trust with clients. It was a long process, but looking back everything was worth it.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Commit to work. It is hard work and will get you ahead in life. You won’t be handed success in a day, so grow and struggle. Allow yourself to experience all the high and lows of your career.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family and my son are the love of my life. I can’t imagine my life without him and can’t remember the time I did! I love spending time with him and travelling. The support I got from everyone around me built me into the man I am. Every day I go back home and the only thing on my mind is to spend time with my family. That is the most essential part of my day now, and I love it.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I believe giving back to the world is the best thing any successful man can do. However, I still am building myself into becoming the best version of myself. I always make sure I am donating and spending on others as much as I am earning. Charity is compulsory if you have money, I can’t imagine living with people who need money, and not providing them with some currency. There is no success without being generous to others, even in my profession.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“People will stare. Make it worth their while.”

One of the main struggles of people dealing with social anxiety is stares. A lot of people worry about how they represent themselves to the world or how society will perceive them. I say let them stare, judge and pass comments. The main component of building confidence is being yourself and putting out your best work. If its different, unique and will get disapproval so be it. Like every designer, I struggled with critics, and I always replied back with this quotation. It is important to be okay with who you are, and what you wear. Let them stare, there’s a reason you caught their eye in the first place. Remember that.
