Interview with Saman N (@samwilllliam)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I always knew that I loved building things, especially in terms of businesses. That is why I took the career path of an entrepreneur and have been able to thrive in this field. Entrepreneurship is beautiful, it is the epitome of the American dream.

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

Shortly after I started my business, COVID took hold of the whole country. At the onset, it was difficult to know whether or not we would be able to maintain the same level of productivity, especially with all the uncertainty, but we would soon find out that our hard work would pay off. We were able to implement different forms of marketing and outreach to customers to ensure that our business not only maintained, but thrived during the pandemic.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Perhaps one of the most important things when running a business is de-stressing, and making sure to take time for yourself. Burning out is something that many small business owners will experience when they first begin, because finding the balance between work and life can be very difficult. However, being able to find time to de-stress and recharge your batteries is vital to keep going strong.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My cousin Amir had a huge impact on my success when I first started my entrepreneurial journey. He has been a business owner for a long time, and has successfully operated numerous companies in his career. I would often go to him when I would come to operational or organizational struggles, in order to find advice and to have a better means of solving certain problems. He has helped me on numerous occasions and continues to be a mentor to me.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

One of the most important things to me growing up has been working towards the betterment and achievement of human rights in places that are suffering. Being a 1st generation immigrant, with my parents escaping Iran to come to the United States for a better life, helping those less fortunate than me has been a crucial component of my happiness and fulfillment. I have used my success by giving money back where and when I can, and also volunteer my time with non-profit organizations.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

To be quite honest, life lesson quotes have never had a huge impact to me. Although I understand why they are important for so many people and how they can help them, for me, it has always been more important to take the numerous lessons and implement them into my life and actions. There have been difficult times, there have been times that felt that success would be far, if ever achievable, but keeping your head down and maintaining a strong work ethic has been more important than any quote that I can think of.
