Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I am a DJ based in United Kingdom, Singer and Keyboardist having a passion for art and music. Music being my sole passion, I started as a singer and a keyboardist at a very young age and excelled this field by winning many awards and holding a degree in Indian classical music.
This was not enough for me so I wanted to conquer the world of electronic musical as well. For that I got trained under a well known DJ, Deejay Vijay in India and started my career as a freelance DJ on my own and released Bollywood remixes on global platforms.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
I am a Software Engineer and I was always inclined towards music since childhood, be it singing or playing piano, whenever wherever I got an opportunity to learn and explore music I just went for it. It is strange for a software engineer to become a DJ but that happened! As every corporate employee I also use to visit clubs with amazing music going on and loved the energy and vibe music has created in that place. I reached out to a resident DJ Deejay Vijay and asked him if he can teach me how things work on a deck. He agreed and trained me right in the club in front of many people. That helped me to understand the audience and what they want to hear to enjoy their night and thus I became a DJ. I wanted to learn the art of music production so I learnt electronic music production and music theory and started producing records.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Trust yourself, enjoy your art and never give up on your dreams. Things may or may not happen as per your plan or timeline but you will definitely achieve your dreams if you don’t give up.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
Deejay Vijay. He has trained me to become a DJ and guided me throughout my journey. I was not trained in a studio rather I was trained in a club by him with all the in house equipments which helped me to understand the importance of stage presence, being confident, interaction with the audience, using tools and technology for mixing, and playing a kickass set to end the eventful night. And I have been a fan of AR Rahman’s work and learn a lot from his composition and music sensibility. Also as Snoop Dogg once said “and last but not the least, I want to thank myself for all the hard work! 🙂
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
As an artist, I want to bring joy to people who are there to witness my art. As a DJ, I love to see people happy, singing and dancing with their friends and family and enjoying their experience as experiences does matter in life.
Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. Don’t just exist, live!
