Interview with Rob Ellis (fsu_rob)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I wanted to do something that basically earned me a good living, so I started off with learning the finance side of things because, in order to earn money, we need to understand how it works. Then I moved to real estate where I got to experience various properties and then I saw an opportunity in the demolition aspect and realized a huge job for me. Hence, I became a demolition contractor and am enjoying every bit of it.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I’ll never forget the time when I was called on to a million-dollar house. The house was a beauty, but the owner wanted it gone so in order to break down such a beautiful house into its small pieces was rather bittersweet.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Work-life balance is very important. Give your all to your business and work and not give it even a half percent less but even when I say that, taking time out for your own self is equally as important so never forget to take a break for your own efficiency.
None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My family has always been my rock and now a new addition will be my girlfriend, Madison. She has also held my hand and helped me through some tough times.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I try to do as well as I can because I believe that giving back never gets one down. Rather it helps us grow as good people.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
Master Yoda all the way as he said, “Do or do not, there is no try.”
