Interview with Rael Diaz (@raeldiazfm)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I have to say that I am deeply in love with Latin Music. Seeing the significant impact Latin music has had on American culture made me realise that I wanted to be part of it. I want to leave a legacy in Latin music. And the best way to have a gift is to love what you do and make it your life.
Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I had to say the most remarkable thing happened when I was working with Shannon Moses to create a career as a public speaker. Shannon Moses is a renowned coach in Los Angeles, and she suggested I should try singing because she felt I had the voice for it. At the time, I wrote a song about a broken relationship, and the process of writing and singing was cathartic to me. Since that day, I have not looked back.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
My biggest tip is to remember there are no shortcuts. The talent can only take so far, but you won’t make it far if talent is not accompanied by hard work. It would help if you got better in your craft and were willing to pay the price.
None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
First, I had to say I owe everything to God… my heavenly Father. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Him. He is the source of my strength, my inspiration, my muse.

Also, my brother David who I consider as my number 1 fan. He has always believed in me and has been a huge source of motivation for me.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Building my brand has put me in contact with several people worldwide that have helped me. Getting to know people, their talents, and the chance of providing them with a window to show their craft to the world is a blessing to me.
Do you have a favourite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“The universe sends every challenge we face for only one reason: For us to become the best version of ourselves.”

Initially, I wanted to produce music videos to promote my music. I hired a videographer to materialise my vision. However, the result was less than ideal than what my fans deserved. I spent a lot of money, and it was practically wasted.

I kept torturing myself at the time, thinking that I should have produced more music instead. Then I understood that everything happens for a reason. There was a lesson to be learned to become a more robust version of yourself.
