Interview with Pries Carsane @(iamyoungmoneypries)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Since a while back I had a keen interest on making creative videos but just didn’t know how and where to get started. So I begin teaching myself all about the gear and skills needed to get started. I also thought myself basic editing skills by using free editing app from the app store. In the beginning I made odd videos and edited them myself too. But the videos I made innicially didn’t have the feel I was looking for. But I remained patient and took a break from it all from time to time and learning new methods that could help me get better at it. This enable me to get better. Gradually I stated to notice my content was reaching wider audiences and they were leaving positive reactions on the content I made. This gave me huge joy and satisfaction. It also boosted my confidence in order to make more content and better quality.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Since I started making content for my social media, I noticed positive changes on my personality as I was slowly becoming more and more confident around people. It enable me to come out of my over protective shell and interact with other people. I started reaching out to other content creators who gave me valuable advice, and motivated me to keep pursuing my passion with open heart. I was surprised to learn from other content creators how they had started they journeys in the world of content creation and all the difficulties most of them had faced, which wasn’t all that diferente from where I had started. Others were worse off compared to my situation and it was impressive to learn that through heard work, strong belief and consistency, it is very much possible to reach to the heights of success.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

My best tip would be to stay consistent on your passion. And if ever feeling burn out take a little break from it all, this is to reflect on where you had started and how far have you traveled. Do something different for a little while before getting back into what really makes you happy. Keep your options open. Don’t be hard on yourself. Remember you are not the only one in your shoes and in order to thrive you must keep positive mindset rather then goal focused. It’s all a journey, just enjoy it as you go along the process.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I once met with a very successful person on 28th June 2018. The name of that person is Sahil Khan. He is very successful not just in the eyes of the public with more that 10.8 million followers on Instagram but also in personal life. I had my first encounter with such a wonderful individual on an airport in Ibiza. In fact I have posted our selfie on my Instagram corresponding to the date mentioned above and also tagged the location. I greeted him with outburst of joy because I really look up to this person because of the positive impact he has had on me.

I believe I must be one of the luckiest person on this planet earth. The reason I said this is because that day Sahil Khan plane was delayed which enabled our encounter. He also spoke with open heart
and we had a little discussion about how he had started out and all the other struggles he went through before becoming a social media ICON that he is today. That little banter we had on the airport in Ibiza made me realize life is not all sweet chocolates and flowers. In order to achieve success one must keep true, consistent, passionate and positive mind always.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I strongly believe I have brought goodness to the world by staying true to my experiences I have had in the form of my content creation. Once I visited a place called Oristano which is located in Sardinia. Sardinia is an island. I remember travelling somewhere in February and there was this carnival festivities taking place. I shared my experience in form of content creation. Some citizens from Sardinia had seen my content and were extremely happy to experience the adventure I have had in Sardinia through the lens of my camera. I also made some really nice friends. One friend even game me a rosette corresponding to one of the horses which has taken part in the racing of the horses during the celebrations of the carnival few years also which had a marking moment in history. I have posted on my instabram account a selfie with that rosette on 15 February 2018.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My favorite quote is from J.M Barrie. “Not in doing what you like, but in liking what you do is the secret of happiness”. Initially during some occasions when I started creating content I was sort of doing it with the following mindset (i need to upload as much content as possible) and that mindset had completely taken all the fun out of it. Then I realized then the content which were successful with the audience were the one which I had genuinely enjoyed making. That’s the big diferente between positive and negative. Positive being, doing it with passion and negative being doing with an end goal in mind.

For anyone reading this I would like to point out the following: Pleese do not be hard on yourself and trust the process and allow yourself to grow, flourish with it without holding yourself with negative thoughts. Don’t be hard on yourself, think how many people you have already inspired but you just don’t know about it. Though for food!
