Interview with Patrick Sapp (@thepatricksapp)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I have done a lot of public speaking been a part of podcast, been a part of the broadcast team for Clemson university football team and now have my own show on Fox sports show called the tailgate show that airs every Friday here in Greenville South Carolina. I have been in the sports Broadcasting world for about 10 years.

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

Winning the Brian Dawkins lifetime achievement award from Clemson University.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Stay true to your passions and remain hungry for what you believe in. Most importantly stay the course to achieve your goals and impact.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My father who was the oldest of 11 children and first-time college graduate in his family history. He demanded me to do my best regardless of how I felt or the situation. He would make us read the entire newspapers on the weekends and often shared books with us that was not a part of our school curriculum. It was six of us and he never missed any school events or sporting events we participated in.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have served on numerous boards and volunteer my time and treasure every year to help others in need. The citizen review board of Greenville South Carolina, the police foundations of Greenville SC, the impact foundation, the One Clemson board at Clemson university, The Greenville tech foundation board.

Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

The lining in life is that we will fail regardless of how prepared we are, but we are judged by how we respond to that failure. I started as a true freshman quarterback at Clemson university and started my sophomore year and was benched the end of my sophomore year and then moved to linebacker and was drafted to the San Deigo chargers as a linebacker in the second round. I didn’t give up on my dream I found another way to get it done.
