Interview with Nikolaos Schizas (@nikoschi

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I am economist and working in this sector the last 14 years, however art is my passion. I am painting the last 10 years but the last 3 professionally. it was 3 years ago when I suddenly lost my hearing from one of my ears and this was the trigger to express all this ager, suppression to the canvas. I have my own studio in Barcelona where I practice and working on my technics.

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

last year beginning of summer 2021 – I was in Greece for holidays in Paros where I was trying to disconnect from painting after a very productive period but I had some material that bought form an art shop in Athens just to feel that if I have the need to paint, I will do it. I paint a big heart in blue tones inspired form the greek blue. I left this painting in the wordrobe of the room I was renting when I left the island. This blue heart stayed there, it was belonging there.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

What I do is Working hard some periods and then take big brakes in the middle. Stop making art when nothing comes up, this is a sign of burn out and tiredness..

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story? *

My partner is one of the person that motivate, supporting and advising me. My friends as well. I think is very important to believe yourself and stay optimistic.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I hope that my art brings emotions to my collectors. I dont know if I have ever brought goodness to the world but I am trying to express my love and my support as much as I can to those that are in my life.

Do you have a favorites “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

my quote is “ex corde vita”. For many years was not expressing my feelings and I am regretting about it. I am currently trying to express them and share how I feel.
