Interview With Michael Beas (@BeasMichael)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Books and Music have always fascinated me. I love story’s and how they relate to music impressed me the most. It was at Ultra Music Festival in Miami back in 2013 that I knew that I wanted to do something with Electronic Dance Music. That is when I got the idea to start Raver Magazine. Today Raver Magazine receives over 2 million visitors a week and is considered to be one of the leading dance music publications in the world. I have personally interviewed over 500 + musicians the likes of Ice-T, Nicky Romero, David Guetta, CID, Cosmic Gate, Markus Schultz, Tiësto, Laidback Luke, Armin van Buuren, Aftojack and so many more.

From a book perspective, my other passion is to help authors become bestsellers. I formed another company in 2013 called eBook Marketing Solutions which is now a division of Atlas Elite Publishing Partners. Combined the company has been able to help over 1,000 + authors become bestsellers. At the end of the day, it all goes back to the love of music and an unending drive to follow my passion for the written word. As a result in 2020, I was awarded the title of Top Literary Consultant in the Country and have was featured on a billboard in Time Square for the accomplishment.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I would have to say that being featured in a Billboard in Time Square was a pretty interesting thing that happened in my life, but I would have to say that from a music perspective having the opportunity to shoot photos for Denon DJ and working with Laidback Luke and the Tiësto was probably one of the funniest experiences I had during the Raver Magazine journey. From a book standpoint, being able to promote Former US Senator Jim Buckley’s book and Former Apple Marketing Guru, Andy Cunningham’s book was something I will never forget.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
The key I think is balance. Finding your balance in what makes you happy is the key. It’s not money or power or anything in between. Finding balance in the core of “YOU” is what will keep you from burning out. Doing things for the passion of doing it is what keeps the drive alive and is what will separate you from the rest.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My journey has been long and hard and I have been blessed with so many people who have helped me and inspired me to be the person that I am today. The person who comes to mind is Steve Mariotti, Founder of NFTE, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. He believed in my vision and showed me how to value my internal worth. He showed me how to do better in a world that is constantly putting you down and how to rise above the noise that hinders growth.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Words have power. If we are interviewing a famous artist in the magazine their words can influence change in the world. We are a beacon of that influence that can make a difference to a person who is struggling with something bigger than themselves. I believe that through their stories we have made a difference and have inspired hope with people who perhaps are in a dark place in their lives. That is the hope and goal always with us at Raver Magazine. With Atlas Elite Publishing Partners it is critical that we only promote books that we believe in. That we only obtain press for those who have a positive story to tell. Their stories are those that echo in time with the power that we offer behind our promotions. Being at the forefront of that chance and message is something that I am and will forever be proud of.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
Quote: “Don’t Chase After Pennies When You Are Trying to Make Millions”.I feel all of us get so wrapped up in the little things in life that we lose focus on the bigger play, the bigger picture. We get worried about the mundane and we lose sight of what’s in front of us. If we stay focused we can obtain anything in life.
