Interview with Melinda Faye @melinda_faye__

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Rise Boxes was created long before Burkie Belle’s ever became a dream. Rise was in printed in me as a child. It came out of trauma. Sexual abuse. Yep, there it is, I said it. Rise was my mantra if you will. It’s what I repeated over and over to myself. It was my battle cry within myself too. It was 30 years later when I allowed my secret to surface, and I want to do anything and everything in my power to help those who have been victims of abuse, and to help educate others on how to identify, avoid, and disclose sexual abuse. Rise Boxes have the power to do so in unfathomable ways. Each box will have a subtle, pretty message to encourage women. embrace their confidence.

Can you share the most interest in what exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

The most interesting and exciting thing is to make women rise and guide them so that they can improve themselves and stand on their own feet.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

I would recommend women to develop their own skills and experience by working with others in your field to build your leadership and organizational skills. This will help you achieve your goal of leading teams in the future.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family is my backbone. They support me in every manner. Without them I’m nothing. Whenever I felt down I look at my child they always give me more confidence.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

From fashion and beauty items to inspirational reads and motivational tools, I support and encourage women to become their best selves. So rise up, girl! You can do this!

Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Remember that you must die.” The phrase has its origins in ancient Rome. It is believed that enslaved people paying generals on victory parades whispered the words as a reminder of their commander’s mortality to prevent them from being consumed by hubris (excessive pride and self-confidence).
