Interview with Martin Toe (@iammartintoe)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I started making music after seeing that it inspired the young kids in my community to reach for hire goals. It give me a voice to share the struggles people go through in my community and state.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I received an Award for Civic Leader through NPR which really solidified my voice as a voice of change.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I would say spend more time with the people you love don’t forget about the things and the people who make you happy and refresh your energy.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I am really grateful for Ruslan, a known hip hop artist and now blogger who has spoken into my life and help me shape up my skills. I am also thankful for guys like Lecrae who’ve I’ve been encouraged by but especially my parents.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I get messages from people telling me that my music helped them through a time of loss. It helped them when they were feeling down it helped them regain focus they felt inspired to pursue their goals. Things of such sort blesses my heart. Knowing that people relate to the message and that it’s changing their lives.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My life lesson quote is “are the things I’m doing today on par with the dreams I have for tomorrow” this always helps me see if my actions align with my future plans.
