Interview with Mallory Velvet (@malloryvelvet)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I was pursuing my acting and modeling career at the time but I was paying the bills by being a full time stylist. Life was good, work was coming in and it looked like the hard work was going to start paying off. I never expected what was about to come next. It was like any other day except it was a little bit slower. I appreciated the stillness because my work was very fast paced. I thought okay today is going to be an easy day. I was asked to run a quick errand and I did so happily. As I was on my way back I kept hesitating to cross the street. It was very strange, the crosswalk said to walk but it was almost like I was paralyzed. I looked around and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary so I forced myself to walk then out of nowhere I see this car speeding next to me and I make eye contact with him and see he’s going to make a left turn so I stop then I didn’t see him cross in front of me, I glance over and his car is sliding towards me. There was no time to move or do anything, the car hit me onto the hood of another car and my leg got caught between the two cars. It happened so fast and I remember thinking Why did this have to happen today? I had so much I needed to do. As I tried to get up, I realized I couldn’t stand and fell to the ground. There was luckily a nurse near by that was able to help me until the ambulance got there. What started out as a normal day ended up changing my life forever

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

I have found myself in some unlikely situations but being a jack of all trades has its perks. One of the most interesting stories I have is when I was in Paris one week and Coachella the next assisting with getting Millie Bobby Brown ready for the festivities. (she is so beautiful inside and out. the sweetest btw)

.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Meditate. It’s universal and can’t go wrong no matter what. This will help you in all areas of your life. Food is medicine. Have movement be part of your routine, incorporate fitness to be stronger instead of trying to be less

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I believe having a good support system with people who are for you can help tremendously. I was so broken, didn’t have anyone I didn’t have trust which created more anxiety for me growing up. I was so lucky to meet my mentor and healer. She dramatically help change my life for the better by being there for me, listening to me and assisting with my spiritual journey – being the voice of reason so to speak. I learned how to trust others and most importantly trust myself. She helped me concur my fears and taught me how to use my voice. I am forever grateful for her.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I have used my success to bringing goodness to the world by starting a spiritual practice where I offer guidance to increase awareness

People are reluctant to change, providing objections and insurmountable obstacles to moving forward. I helps circumvent their reluctance by helping them to see things differently.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

” Real love comes not from trying to solve our
neediness by depending on another, but by
developing our own inner richness and maturity. Then
we have so much love to give that we naturally draw
lovers towards us.”

As I’ve grown I have found that true happiness is when you are happy with yourself and that it doesn’t matter how far you run away, your troubles will follow.
I have found myself get lost in this
fantasy of becoming one with someone.
One thing I have learned is that no one has any
obligation to deliver your happiness even if they wanted to. It’s not their task. It’s not their
responsibility.
