Interview with Makeupbynareman

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a thousand different things before I decided on becoming a Makeup Artist/Influencer. I had always loved dressing up and making myself look like something else. Being the only female member amongst my male siblings gave me many opportunites to play around with makeup and transform myself into anything I wanted. As all my friends went off to college, as most people are expected to do, I thought about how I could apply what I love to a career.

I always felt that I might be letting down my parents if I didn’t go to college and get a 9-5 job where I could make a steady income. In a world where you’re expected to finish school, get a higher education, and get right into the workforce for the rest of your life, I felt uneasy about wanting to do something different.

Eventually I realized that maybe I didn’t want to do what was expected of me, all these famous actors/actresses had dreams that were different from the norm maybe some went to college and others went a different path, and all of them are now very successful at what they do. With inspirations like these, it’s no wonder I decided to do what felt right for me!

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

One of the most interesting things ive encountered since being a makeup artist/influencer, i was working on bridal makeover and while i was performing the makeover on the bride she started questioning what she was doing getting married, was she doing the right thing, what made her get to that point in this part of her life to make this serious commitment, so she started to crying, meanwhile her makeup was half way done and being ruined by her non stop tears, and to top that off she had me crying with her. After speaking with her, and giving her moral support about making this decision i felt like i give her the will power to move forward with the man she fell in love with. That was 7 years ago and they are currently married and we’ve been best friends from that day and forever.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Makeup artistry is a very fluid line of work, with opportunities for every kind of artist. If you are willing to put yourself out there and learn confidence in your abilities, there is a place somewhere for you. Whether it’s working on brides before they walk down the aisle or helping someone at a store pick out their perfect product, makeup artistry is fulfilling. If you are passionate about what you do and you can make it happen.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story? *

I started off my career with a dream and a family who supported me every step of the way, during the beginning of my career i was struggling with not knowing what to do, which path i wanted to go, and my spouse was there by my side, he helped me achieve a strength to move forward he would’nt let me down when i felt when i was failing he would pick me back up, when i was going to fast he would share his thoughts on how i could pace myself, til today i have my great family and wonderful spouse to show for my success and im greatfeul for all of them.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world? *

I bring goodness to this world by encouraging people of all regions, races, to recognize our shared humanity. I do this by educating others to use more color in their life to change their mood. I’ve inspired others at talks and presentations. …If you have that first sale or find yourself unemployed — I encourage you to volunteer for a cause, donate and decide to connect to the collective human spirit. We are generous creatures so my success is your success and your success is my success. This is why sharing our stories, using our success for good and making art matters because it’s adding to our shared humanity. Helping our evolution as a species.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Money is what we think makes the world go round, one thing i believe in is we can start our lives out in a struggle, most of us don’t have a rich family to live off of and im one of those, i never believed for one moment we have to have millions of dollars to have a happy life we can all be happy by helping one another, ive met people who are filthy rich and ar sad and depressed becasue they cant experience the great struggles like the rest of us, i’ve also met people who dont have a dollar to eat a meal, for us we all have to struggle together we have to think about humanity and what do for one another and how we can encourage change by helping others who have less then we do,and for ewveryone who thinks they cant make a change theyre fooling themsleves we all have the power to change someones life.
