Interview with Maalik F (Maalik_f)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Growing up, my brother Nate used to work at UPS. Every time he got paid, he would bring home these different CDs from all the other music artists, from 2Pac to Lauryn Hill, The Legends like James Brown Micheal Jackson. I would Soak in everything and get Influenced by how the artist was writing the CDs, look, videos, and I really wanted to be them.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

When I first started putting music out, I didn’t know it was getting kind of significant till one day, my friends. I was going downtown to party and walking to the nightclub. Some people Recognized me and shouted out my name and started singing the song, So I looked over my guy and said, this shit is working.“we doing it.”

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Tips I would give is to keep a tight schedule, push yourself be mindful of your thoughts, be appreciative of what you got and try to work out and be comfortable who you are and what you are doing and whatever you are doing, be a master-master yourself and cherish every day

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My father was a person who always supported me. Whatever I was doing in music, he always told me as a kid to use my voice. Wasted talent is the worst thing I can sing and live forever through my music. Now I truly understand that now sents I’m able to build myself up to support my family generations.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I gave back to my Community through teen mentoring and Charitable contributions

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

A life lesson I have is to act before you are ready. I relate to this by before I started to put my music out, I was afraid about what people would think about it or how I sound and everything else’s and wasted a lot of time on that now I do my best to stay ready and constantly live my life.
