Interview with LOCK (@lock2wavy)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Ever since a kid I was fascinated with the music scene. I was born in 2002 so I grew up listening to 50 cent mainly for hip-hop/rap and all I can remember is watching his music videos and wanting to be in his shoes and pursue my future rap career.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
I practically turned nothing into something. I wasn’t bullied for my music but I was definitely talked about by many..they were not good conversations mind you. In all fairness when I first started my rap career I was not good at all.. but over the years I found a way to build my craft as much as I could up until now. So majority of my past haters/doubters have since changed their view on me and my music as a whole
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Unfortunately you have to give the people what they want until you reach a point in this career where you can do as you please. My second tip would most definitely be invest in your career because this is not free to play this is a pay to play career.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I have a lot of adults who have played a parent figure in my life that I am so very thankful for but I would like to thank my step mom ray ray and my sister sukie especially. All I can remember as a kid was how ray ray formed me to be the man I am today. From my taste in music to how I react in certain situations in life. Ray ray and sukie have been in my life since a baby and they both have been the most supportive family I have ever had and that is really all a person needs sometimes. The sense of comfort, love and support can lead you on to take over the world and your dreams and that is what they provided to me and I will forever be grateful for it. They are my #1 fans, forever and always.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Ever since gaining popularity to my name I have talked a lot about the acts of bullying, the LGBTQ community, and unity as a whole. There’s a lot going on in the world that really is not necessary and it takes multiple people to change that, so I put in my part with the hopes to make a different one day. Why ur
Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favorite quote is “if it makes you happy it’s doesn’t have to make sense to anyone else” the reality is that people tend to dislike what they don’t understand and once you can comprehend that…your life will become less stressful in various ways.
