Interview with Leonela Delarosa(@leonela_delarosa_)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Everything started when I got sick in 2016, lost my job as an administrative assistant for a Real Estate Developer, and was later on declared disabled due to multiple medical reasons. At that point I realized that I wouldn’t let my medical condition stop me from fulfilling my dreams as an Entrepreneur. But it wasn’t until years later when I was able to start my own business and build a clothing brand called, Clothing & Hair by Scorpio. My passion for fashion and my eagerness to be my own boss was my main motive in starting the brand. I’m currently an Amazon Professional Seller and an Owner of multiple Shopify stores.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
An interesting aspect behind my business is that I started clothing brand while being homeless and living in a NYC Homeless Shelter with my 2 small Children. I did not let the fact that I was homeless stop me from dreaming big and visualizing myself as a successful entrepreneur.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
I would tell my colleagues that may feel burn out either due to low budget or low sells, to remain consistent and not lose hope. It took every successful clothing brand years to hit the momentum and brand recognition they have now. Business do not become successful in a blink of an eye; it takes time, dedication, and vision to build any type of brand.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story? *
I don’t have a particular person that helped me along the way, I didn’t have to opportunity to have someone mentor me along the way. I did spend endless hours washing YouTube videos on how to become a drop shipper, how to build a brand, and how to successfully become an Amazon seller. I also watched multiple free and paid webinars. However, as I continue to build my brand I plan on hiring a mentor to help me along the way.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world? *
I use my social media platforms like Instagram to educate my followers about business. I share insights from successful and well known worldwide Entrepreneurs on financial education and business fundamentals.
Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was?
