Interview with Laveda Lash & Brow @lavedalash (Beauty salon)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

The love and passion about bringing out beauty in all my clients. Love to see people smile and feel good about how they look. Looking good helps with self-confidence and feeling good.

Can you share the most interest in what exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

There isn’t a specific story that I can pinpoint and share, just a combination of various students that would say how we inspired them to get into this business and our positive impact.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Develop a system and resources to create efficiencies, build an effective team and support system around you and establish a work-life balance.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My husband was critical in being the catalyst in growing our company into one of the fastest growing in the D.C. area. He understood and saw my passion when I was a solo artist and helped create opportunities that allowed us to grow into multiple locations with over 30 employees and consultants within just under 3 years.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Besides doing the occasional, One of the best things about being a small business owner is creating job opportunities that allow employees to provide a living and care for their families. The responsibility that we have we don’t take lightly, and we put a lot of effort into making sure we provide above-average industry pay and great bonuses.

Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

A few sayings from Albert Einstein that I love. “There comes the point in your life when you need to stop reading other people’s books and write your own.” ” Logic can take you from point A to point B. Imagination can take you wherever you want.” I used to read soo many books on how to build a business, make money, motivational books, you name it, and of course, all that is extremely helpful, but it was the action, the self-motivation, and imagination that sometimes you can’t find from a book. You have to be willing to fail to succeed and take chances.
