Interview with Kev Lebasi (kev_lebasi)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Rap is my life, and it is the one thing in my life that defines me as a person. What do I do when I’m sad? I rap. What do I do when I am happy? I rap. It’s the one expression of art that has made my mental and physical health better and keeps motivating me to work hard. I am very grateful that my greatest love and passion is also my work and daily bread.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I would say to not give up even in times you feel like that’s your only option in life. The odd thing about living is that one can never predict the future; you might think nothing is working out, whereas success is just waiting at the corner behind that doubt! So don’t give up, be smart, change your ways and find different techniques but don’t completely ever give up on your goals.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
The lebasi family is the core of my identity and without them I am nothing. I started my rap with them, and today I struggle alongside my friends and fellow rappers to reach the top together. My whole family is always by my side too, thus their support means the world to me.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I help people whenever I can as I believe with money and success comes the power of giving. The more I give to others, the more my career is fruitful.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“Got to be real with it.”
I live by this quote and advise others to do the same. There is no originality in work if you don’t stay true to yourself. Be real with who you are, what you want to do, and what you want to represent yourself to the world. In a world full of fakes, you got to be the real one for yourself.
How can our readers follow you on social media?
