Interview with Jon Toshmatov (@myitedu)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I am an IT professional and I have been in this field for close to 20 years. I received my academic knowledge at Clarke University and Harvard Business School Online. I founded my own software/educational “MYITEDU” company in New York. In the last a few years I have been also acting in the Uzbek movies and TV series. A lot of people know me as a talented actor. I always wanted to play roles in the movies when I was in my childhood. I played a foreign business entrepreneur character in the TV series “Jumboq”, and played the lawenforcement officer/detective Toshmatov character in the movie “NAFS”, also played the role as Salem in the Turkish TV soap opera “Qora Quti” and other interesting shows and films.

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

Since I started acting as a hobby I have met a lot of interesting people and travelled the world. I have had opportunities working with popular and great talented professionals in the field and gained hands-on experienced in performing my part.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

My personal recommendation who wants to try acting as a gig is to basically keep things natural and simple. Think and feel like the character and feel what character is going through. If you do not feel it then audience will definitely notice it. The second and the most important thing is connect with the audience in more of personal level, act like you share the same joy or pain as they do.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I have so many people I am thankful to for achieving successful results in the show business in Uzbekistan. A great and talented producer Dilshodjon Ahmedov helped me break some many barriers between being in IT field and acting world.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

Being in the IT which is the fastest growing and the most trending field in the world and acting in the movies has definitely helped me gain some popularity which obviously comes with huge responsibilities like being a role model to younger generation, have a good moral and faith, always be humble and help others.

Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

My life lesson is no matter how high you climb up in life there will be a moment you will come down, so be nice to people on the way up.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

I am everywhere on social media and they can look up by MYITEDU
