Interview with Johnny [email protected](itsmejohnnyg)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I am a social media influencer an advocate for overcoming depression and boosting your self-confidence. For many years I myself struggled with depression that at times left me mentally paralyzed. I’ve gone through traumatic experiences that have also impacted me in a negative way and left me at a dark place where many would call Rock bottom. Thankfully through my journey of self-awareness and self-discovery I learned to overcome depression and anxiety. Although I’m not a therapist, I am a survivor and with my knowledge, experience and the lessons I’ve learned, my dream is to help others feel the relief and the freedom of overcoming such a debilitating mental illness..
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
I came across a gentleman, on a daily basis, who I realized was new in town. One day I decide to befriend him and surprisingly we became really good friends. As our friendship started I noticed he was very hard on himself and had very little confidence, which didn’t sit well with me for some reason but I now know that it was my passion to help others that was triggered. Finally, one day we scheduled to see an event, he seemed at an all time low with his self-esteem and I couldn’t take it anymore so I released a burst of a passionate self-motivational rant and I didn’t know where it came from. As time went on I noticed a big change in his attitude towards himself but then unfortunately he moved away and I didn’t see him for years. Fast forward to current day He is now a motivational speaker, very high on self-care, has an amazing physique due to a self-discipline of going to the gym everyday and a beautiful wife. He is truly an inspiration, but what really touched my heart was when he thanked me for that one interaction that changed his whole life and that’s when I knew what my purpose was in this world.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Some good tips for my colleagues in this industry to help them thrive and not burn out is always make sure to make time for yourself first. It is very important because you cannot help others when you don’t have the drive or ambition to take on someone else’s challenges and guide them towards a resolution.
Another tip would be to make sure to always have a schedule and stick to it. This would allow them to meet with their clients on an orderly basis and allow them to make time for themselves and their family.
My final tip would be to always keep learning. In our fast changing society it is important to know the impacts that new developments in our world can create on people and their self-esteem. Also, it’s always good to view another perspective within your craft. I believe it makes you a well-rounded person.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
A very special elderly woman by the name of Ninfa, who is very passionate about the Catholic religion and is also an advocate for healing the broken soul. She came into my life at the perfect time because I was at a low point in life after my divorce. Through her discipline and guidance of religion, she helped me see the light at the end of the tunnel and I rose from that dark place in my life. She also taught me self-righteousness and to always remain humble. I will always be grateful to her for devoting her time to heal me.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Through my success I decided to start making TikTok videos that help motivate and inspire the community and soon plan to expand to reach a broader audience so that we can revert the negative stigma of depression and low self-worth within our nation. My ultimate goal is to be able to start foundations that can help aid the less fortunate communities around the world with necessities they are not capable of receiving such as dental work, or small medical procedures that can make a big difference in their life.
Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favorite life lesson quote is the old classic karma “what goes around, comes around”. I hold that quote dearly in my heart because I know firsthand the effects of what you put out to the universe and the results you can receive. At a young age I was a very mischievous kid and I didn’t always make the best decisions but through that I learned that bad decisions results in bad outcomes and that can be applied to any situation. Even when you feel like no one is watching would you release into the atmosphere, the universe returns tenfold.

Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?
Besides being an advocate for emotional illness I am a 35 year high priest in the African Yoruba religion Santeria and a spiritualist with clairvoyant abilities. I use that experience towards sharpening my skills and achieving a resolution for healing the soul. Spirituality is a big part of Who We are and our well-being, so addressing ones spiritual beliefs and strengthening it can help aid in one’s mental stability.
