Interview with John Liu (@teamliu)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I’ve always had a passion for learning, but it wasn’t to learn in school or at a 9-5 job. I’ve felt my need wasn’t or did not fit into a corporate environment and didn’t think that would help me succeed in accomplishing my future goals.

Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I’ve had the opportunity to travel and meet many others who are now some of my close friends. We all share a similar vision and can help each other become more successful.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

When you feel like you need to take a break, step back and take a break. Look at the entire picture once again, and see what you think you may need to do differently to better yourself by accomplishing the goal you’ve put in place. Feel free to open up and speak to others about your goals and share your ideas because it is okay to for help. Failure is okay, as long as you make yourself get back up and either do it again or try to find a different solution for your goal.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person whom you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I’m grateful for my family and all of the friends I’ve met. Even with little motivation initially, they’ve all learned to be supportive, and I will always appreciate that.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I’ve spoken to peers about their ideas and advised people around me who share the same passion as I do. I love to donate whatever I can to the less fortunate when I can.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

It would be best to act big, think big, and talk big to be successful.
