Interview with Jibin Joy (@time_x_traveller)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

“From my childhood, it was my dream to become a scientist. My father was an electrician, and also good at mechanics. I was helping him from my childhood, and so automatically I was interested in those things. I was really surprised about the magic of electricity. I was eager to know about new scientific innovations. I got many prices for science exhibitions from my school period. Then I started thinking about mixing electrics and mechanics. When I was studying at 8th standard, I made a mini robot, and I was awarded 1st price for that.

For achieving my dream, I chose science for my future studies. I was not much good at other subjects, but always gained  more than 80 percent in physics and mathematics. My interest was to learn some scientific things, but I was forced to select motive power technician program due to scarcity of tuition fee. Although I was learning new scientific things from online articles and encyclopedias. Then I started thinking about inventing something which can make a great turnover to the world.

The first thing which came to my mind in time travel. I had read a lot about it. Now I am researching on it. If I am able to find it, its helps are a lot. For example, if a disaster is happened and a lot of people lost their life, using the time travel technique, we can go back and clear out the impacted area, and so we can save many lives. That’s my interest in this subject. I am also researching about teleportation.”

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

I had faced a lot of challenges on the way to become a scientist. When I was about 12 years old, I was trying to repair a set of led bulbs in series connection. One of the bulb had blown out. So I removed the bulb using a knife. But accidently I put the knife in the circuit. Without noticing it, I turned the switch ON, and the main fuse at the home was blown..

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Be always careful when dealing with everything. Take all safety precautions. Children please don’t do any experiments without anyone’s assistance.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

“There are many, who supported me to achieve success. The one person, who helped me a lot is my father. He was a strict person, but loved me a lot. He made me interested in this subject. When I did mistakes, he helped me to find it out. He was the one who tried to bring out my ideas.

In my childhood, when I was doing an electrical experiment without anyone’s permission, I got an electric shock and I fall down. My father beat me for that. After some time, he came to me, and explained me about the all impacts of electricity. Thant was an unforgettable moment in my life.”

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

As I had mentioned, my current topic time travel can bring a lot of changes in the world. We can rescue many lives from disaster affected areas, bring back murdered persons to find out how they were killed, and so on.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“Your success should be the success of the world”. In my life, I am following it. So, whatever I invents, should be something useful for the world.
