Interview With Jeremy Petrachonis (@jpabstractart)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I really wanted to create, as well as expand my imagination, and to also show the world a new form of Abstract Art… something that they have never seen, until now. It was just something that I’ve always wanted to do, and that was to express myself.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
Well, it’s quite interesting that you ask the question… because there was once a time, I was doing a show, in Washington, DC, where I was staying at a cheap motel, and it turns out, the night I stayed there, they had a full-on Robbery and Assault in the next room, which involved a gun, so as you can imagine, there was a great amount of Police presence… after that experience, I have never booked a cheap place, no matter where I tour. 🤣 LOL

Outside of that experience, I’ve had the pleasure of exhibiting around the world, and it’s been such a blessing, that I wish upon many Artists who wish to do the same, but in the process, you will definitely have many stories and experiences, during that journey… Never give up, no matter how crazy your journey gets!
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
This question comes up a lot, given the field that I’m directly involved with, in terms of being Independent, as well as being an Artist… the best I could give to anyone would be to NOT doubt yourself in any way, and just do what you love, within the Arts. I say that, because once you cross the line, where you’re wondering what people (and the world) would love to see, it adds a lot of pressure, and that’s something you DON’T want, when being a Creator, as well as an Artist… just let everything flow, and unleash your energy upon the world, in a way that you seem fit because trust me, you’ll owe it to yourself, in the long run!
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
To me, that success story would start in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised, in Hazleton, PA… I owe all of my success to them, as well as the NEPA area because, without them, I wouldn’t have had the love and support to expand my journey worldwide.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I really try best, honestly, and that’s all you can do, in Life… if you have a message, no matter what form it may be, then you deserve to share that message with the world, because you never know who it can reach, and in what ways they’ll perceive that message. Positivity is what truly triumphs overall, so if you embody that message, then please let the world know!
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
When I think about it, the best Life Lessons I have ever gotten in my Life would have to be, “Practice Makes Perfect,” as well as, “You get out of something, in Life, what you put in.”

Those quotes are so surreal to me because they are words are true, because you can’t perfect something, until you practice the craft, and you don’t get anything out of life unless you put something into it… you can’t anywhere without drive.
