Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I’ve always had a passion for music, at first I started out as a producer/songwriter as I was too shy to even touch a microphone. At the age of 15, I entered a school music competition and decided to do something different from my competitors, so I chose to sing instead. To my surprise, I was even shocked that I knew how to sing not only that but also win the competition. Everyone in school was amazed by my newly discovered talent and decided to encourage me to pursue a singing career, that’s how I got started.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
I once had a studio session, that was booked for 2 hours. I got caught with so many things that I forgot to write the lyrics to the song, so as I got to the studio I knew that everything had to be done within 2 hours. I decided to freestyle instead, not only was the song a hit, but it also happened to be 1 of the best songs I have ever written to this day. From now on I discovered, not only that I’m a quick songwriter, I also happen to write purely on the vibe and on the spot way better than pre-written.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Take the time to identify your true sound. Make music that comes from within and not purely to please others. Be true to yourself and always keep working hard.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I would say my family keeps me really grounded. There are times when I felt like giving up but they always remind me of how far I’ve come from, and that gives me the extra boost to keep pushing and working hard.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Yes, I do a lot of charitable work for my local community. I always make time for people that need an ear, from my closest family member to all my fans, I always listen to them and give my personal opinion or advice. I often put people before me as I love to help. I also give advice artists starting out who look up to me, from songwriting to song construction.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
