Interview with Jason Moattar (@moattar)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Growing up and seeing my father work so hard for the business practically made me learn business from a very young age. When it came to be my time to work for Moattar, it just felt natural to me. My father would be the one who made me this interested in business.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
It is so easy to burn out. Especially when it comes to businesses that take so much of time and also bleed into the personal life. I try my best to relax with my loved ones and also take some time to myself with things like the gym.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My family would be the biggest cause of my success. Without my father and my mother’s hard work, I would not be the president of Moattar that I am today. Andrea, my sister, has also been a great source of support to me. We are a great team together and I will be forever grateful for my family.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Through my work, I try to share the art of rugs and rug making to wider world. Many people don’t even know about traditional rugs but through Moattar they get to know and also engage in the art that are traditional rugs.
Do you have a favourite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“To smile.” People often forget to do this in the grind of their lives. I always take the time out to be grateful for all that I have and remember just to smile sometimes.
