Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I had worked in the financial Service and Real Estate world for a very long time so one day I decided I wanted a change. April 2019 was a pivotal point in my life and as I sat pondering what next to do “in life” at a local carwash I started reading some magazines. While reading a few of the “real estate” magazines I told myself that I wanted to create my own magazine. With no plan in tow or a clear direction – I came home, posted a few ads online, and then within hrs, I was in my car driving to meet up with a designer. I found a lot of what we were doing fascinating so it peeked my interest to really learn the publishing business. I jumped in and hired some writers and designers which culminated in me having an 80 png magazine within 90 days and the rest as they would say is history.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
Since becoming a publisher I’ve been able to meet some very interesting people. From celebrities to CEOs to regular ordinary people who all say the same thing about HVV. They love the way our publication looks and feels. Its oversized and elegant look decked out in silk paper makes it one of the most luxurious magazines on the market.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Stay true to yourself and don’t try so hard to please everyone.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I am grateful for my Mom and Dad. Growing up in a house with two of the smartest, funniest, and most driven people surely helped me along the way.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
HVV is a luxury publication that knows no color boundaries. We feature so many different ethnicities which gives the minority world an opportunity to be shown front and center when other publications are skeptical.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
Attract what you expect. Reflect on what you desire. Become what you respect. Mirror what you admire.
How can our readers follow you on social media?
