Interview with Hamid Mohammed
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Music is my passion. I’ve always been a quiet person and I found myself being able to express more through music. It helps me to express and speak my mind.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
The most exciting thing was being able to travel around and visit places that I’ve always dreamed of like Zanzibar. it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. All I can say is that Zanzibar is a heaven on earth.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
The power of will and determination. A quote by Will Smith in his recent book titled “Will” that got inspired and kept on repeating to anyone was “ The difference between the task that feels impossible and a task that feels doable is just a matter of perspective “ we if live with that perspective we will always thrive and not burn down.
Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
A person who I am grateful for and who helped me to become one the greatest Artist in Chad was “Afrotronix” he believed in me when all the doors were closed and no one was willing to give me a chance. This guy took me to his studio and produced a song that went viral all over the Republic of Chad and surrounding countries. Afrotronix is an award-winning Chadian artist and has multiple nominations and the best African DJ 2018 in All African Music Awards (AFRIMA awards). I am forever grateful for the opportunity he gave me and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t make it.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I’ve always considered myself a global citizen. I love to participate and volunteer for good causes. I’m in my early career and I’ve got so many projects such as empowering women from my country Chad, children’s education, helping the ones in need, and providing them aid. These are my goals and I’m hoping that I can make difference.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
Growing up, I’ve never had a normal childhood. I took responsibility at a young age since I was the oldest among my siblings, therefore I dropped out of school and began to help my dad. Although I wanted to become a great singer and also peruse my education life was a little rough. My mom always told me “ Nothing is impossible and age is just a number, and always aim high, and try to get the best out of anything” these words kept me going. And now I’m at a place where I’m still building but also satisfied with all the things that I’ve accomplished. I’m on top of my career and managed to pursue my education. I’m in the #1 university in Canada. I thank my mom for that because she believed in me more than anyone else and she knew I would become something one day. I’m doing all that for her… Mom I hope you are proud of me :).
