Interview with Emily Rainey Tik Tok (@emilymakeitrainey)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I am originally from Texas. I moved to Los Angeles at age 18 to pursues acting and modeling. Since then, I have been featured in numerous films, internet projects, and a couple of tv shows. I’ve also landed some pretty cool modeling gigs. During the pandemic I became a certified personal trainer and did an internship for personal training as well. After about 7 months of personal training I began to blow up on TikTok. I have been intrigued by social media for years but never really pursued it fully until now. My TikTok and Instagram both continue to grow daily and I am now starting to work on my YouTube as well. It’s been such an incredible journey and building a social media presence has brought be so many amazing opportunities!
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
Since starting TikTok I think the coolest thing that has happened for me is the opportunity to work with women-owned company Ta-ta towels. I posted a video walking my dog in a ta-ta towel and the owner of the company ended up seeing and loving the video. She then invited me on their next shoot and I have now worked with them on two different shoots in just a few months.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
Have fun with it!!! Don’t try to make content about something that doesn’t EXCITE you. If you’re not having fun and loving life while creating than you WILL give up, burn out, and your audience will catch on to the fact that you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, leading to failure. HAVE FUN and be yourself.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I am so grateful for my partner, Matt. He has been so supportive throughout this entire journey. He’s always willing to help with a video or to give me ideas when I need them. When times have gotten tough, and trust me, they have, he has been my number 1 fan and always continues to give me hope and inspiration.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I hope my success is brining goodness to the world. People need love, kindness, fun, to know it’s okay to be and love themselves. Sometimes all a person needs is to see that someone else is living full out and it gives them “permission” to live full out themselves, whatever that means to them.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
I have “your only limit is your mind” tattooed on my thighs. This is one of my favorite tattoos that I have because it reminds me that anything is possible. I’ve gone through so many hardships, including being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at age 20, but this quote reminds me that I am capable of anything. My own mind is the only thing that can stop me, so I need to fill it with love, kindness, inspiration, motivation, and thoughts that make me feel GOOD and POWERFUL.

Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?
I am taking my own advice and living full out as ME. That being said, I have been having so much fun turning into my own version of Cinderella! I went to Disneyland recently for the first time and the side of me that wants to remember the magic and ENJOY LIFE came out, so be on the lookout for much more modern Cinderella content!
