Interview with Dvnilo @dvn.ilo

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Growing up, I always felt out of place. I always went against the grain. I quickly left all the peers I grew up with behind. Always felt I needed to be me, and there was more to life than just “fitting in” and doing the norm. This did come with a cost. As I got older, I continued to become darker and depressed. Questioning every moral I swore by, later becoming anxious that maybe everything I am was wrong and that I should fall in line. I became overweight and depressed with self-esteem issues, while the pandemic caused the peak of all my anxiousness and depression. I chose to give up everything that made me feel comfortable. Ghosted friends, gave up relationships, hobbies, all to do internal soul searching.

I realized that all the skills I have picked up along my life journey were stuck with and practiced over the years to aid me in my creation. During all the internal and external chaos, my weight was lost, my physique transformed, my confidence was re-established, and my brand, “EHXVEE” or “XV,” was born, and I, Dan, was reborn. The meaning of XV is the Angel number 15, which the number 15 always resonated with me my entire life, and I never knew why until I searched for its significance online. I came to find that the essence of this number lies in extreme persistence, in combination with integrity and harmony. The sole essence of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” bleeds throughout my page and brand. To show my followers that “if I can do it, there’s no reason why you can’t either.” I felt lost my entire life, never knew where to apply myself until I dove into my darkness and fought through the hell I created to find the answers I needed to evolve.

Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I have noticed a lot of the signs and signals life throws my way. Cautiously and freely flowing with life’s ebbs and flows have caused incredible opportunities to open up for people and me to manifest their way into my life. The amount of good that came from the massive amounts of discipline I have subjected myself to and the sacrifices of comfort is genuinely incredible.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

You need to love what you’re doing. It needs to come from your heart. It needs to be you.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person whom you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I can confidently but not arrogantly say that no individual helped me along the way. I made sure that I became my own biggest fan and most prominent critic. I’m genuinely grateful for the people I met along the way. But everything about me and my brand rely solely on my strive to become a better person.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I put my heart on my sleeve for my followers. My Instagram is a window into my head, heart, and soul. Everything I feel is engrained in all the art and photos I create and post. I am an open book for all to see, relate to, and acknowledge that they are not alone and we are all fighting demons, but this builds us.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

We all have darkness inside, and specific patterns of living I may find ourselves falling into can accentuate our pain and internal misery. It is not uncommon, and sometimes, it might not be entirely your fault. But it is 100% your responsibility to acknowledge your unhappiness and sad feelings and make necessary changes in your life to alter your course in life. It’s never one significant change that does it. The small, minuscule conscious efforts and tasks require tiny amounts of discipline compiled over time that will take you where you want and, most importantly, need to go in life.

Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?

Beginning this journey was never about money. It was about placing myself out there for millions to see me and destroying my anxieties of judgment to help others who suffer from the same self-esteem issues and demons. To become a symbol of hope for those who think they’re damned.
