Interview with Dreisthaname (@dreisthaname)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I grew up on music. My dad loved doing music. He used to have a studio in his house and i would always try to record myself. So throughout the years, I would focus on things and then from time to time come back to music. Each time getting better and better. I took another break and maybe 3 years ago I told myself lets do it again. So I started recording again and showing people and got a lot of positive responses.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
So I did music as a hobby for the longest. At that time I didn’t want anybody to know who I was and just wanted to put music out under a random name. One night I finish a song and one of my friends wanted to hear it. So i sent the song but i sent it to this girl. She listened to it and was like “OMG this is so good who is this”. I was shocked and nervous cause i didn’t mean to send it to her. So I’m freaking out like, i didn’t mean to send this. She said is this you and it took awhile for me to finally say yes. Once she found out she told me I should take music more serious.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
My tip to other artist would be, don’t give up. Keep making relatable music for people. Everybody goes through situation’s and sometimes feel alone. When you make music about the same situation you and that person went though, they feel more involved.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story? *
If I’m being honest, I really haven’t had any solid help in the music world. I would say I have had a few people in my life give some good advice towards the music industry. At the moment its been all me, Buying the beats, Writing the music, Mixing and mastering the music.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world? *
My music is about real life situations. The up and down’s of life and I just like making songs about it. There’s been times where I post a song and people comment that it has helped them go through what they were going through. That makes me really happy.
Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“You can’t succeed without failing.” A lot of people get scared of failing. I tend to embrace it and know it will happen. Its just the power of failing and learning from it and coming back better then before.
