Interview with [email protected](declanwhitemore)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I loved watching content as a young kid and wanted to be like all the people I watched so I decided to start creating content to make people laugh and happy. I also like seeing people smile and content has helped me out a-lot so I wanted to join and try and make someone’s day that little bit better..
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
As I started in 2020 I didn’t expect my account to do really well but one day I posted a comedy video and the views and follows went crazy as I gained about 30 thousand followers in one night and the video got 10.6 million views which was incredible and at the time I was working on a farm but now I have enough followers to make this my job and I remember going into work showing everyone what was happening with my account and everyone was shocked and happy for me. I was happy as-well knowing that people enjoy the content I make.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
I would recommend that you post as much as you can in a day and keep posting at least once everyday but try and get about 3-4 videos a day to keep creating the content that people want and to also keep interacting with your audience/followers. Definitely go live and talk to your followers to engage with them and make them feel welcomed and loved by their creator.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My friends and family definitely helped me along the way because after I got the 10 millions views and started gaining a-lot of followers my account started slowing down and not getting many views so then I was close to giving up but my girlfriend and mum kept saying don’t give up keep posting it will come back and it did start coming back as I just hit 200 thousand followers I am really grateful for them and how they pushed me to keep going.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I have used my success to try and Create more success for other people by collaborating with smaller creators who are up and coming to help push them out as sometimes it can be hard to get out there even though they are creating good content. So I try and find good people to help and promote to bring them success. I have also treated my mum and girlfriend to things that they have wanted to say Thankyou for sticking with me throughout it all.
Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My favourite life lesson quote after what I have experienced is “never give up” because I was close to giving up but I didn’t and it all worked out in the end which is why that’s my favourite life lesson quote because if you feel like giving up don’t because it will all work out and when the success does come it will make your hard work and persistence worth it and it will feel amazing!
