Interview with damiangeloso (@damiangeloso)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
Well I always knew I wanted to do something with my hands, I started doing electric when I was 18 and quickly saw through the trades that plumbing was the ticket. Everyone always said plumbers make the most.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
The most interesting thing to me would is probably not an actual story but more so of a realization that plumbing is the best trade to be in. I was working as an electrician, a service tech and the plumber presented his price to the customer which was something crazy like $1200 for minimal work, I presented the price, which had more line items for the electric and the customer was asking whats the labor rate and how much am I charging him, when for the plumbing he didnt ask not a single question. The demand for plumbing is much higher than electric. I think that realization was a turning point for me in my career which to me was an interesting time.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Continue to educate yourself and push through to the next level, do not get comfortable. I started out doing electric and achieved my plumbing license before my electric license.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
Definitely, I had a teacher while I was in trade school that definitely helped to show me the proper way of learning, that simplified everything for me and got me to not the next level but the next 3 levels! I can now use that same knowledge passed to me and pass it to others to help them get to their next level.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
With my success I feel I bring goodness to the world daily because everyday I am a problem solver for someone, this may be the end of the world to them or miniscule but everyday I am helping someone, not only problem solving for them but making sure its done in the proper manner at a price they can afford. Alot of companies in my area are charging a premium for what they do, pricing themselves out of the market. Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
Life doesnt stop for anybody or anything, it always goes on. It has helped me to stay focused on my career path and to not be distracted with whats going on with others or in the media or etc. Ive always continually moved forward no matter what was going on in my life at the time.
How can our readers follow you on social media?
The only social media I currently have is instagram: @damiangeloso and snapchat: dgeloso
Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?
The only thing I would like anyone to take from this is at the end of the day it is you vs. you, the biggest problem or obstacle we have to face is ourselves. Once you understand how to tap in with yourself and unlock that next level, its a wrap.
