Interview with Brook Li (@brook0608)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

My track and field performance made me more confident in myself. I just signed up for the 200-meter sprint at a school sports meeting in primary school because I was interested. It was because of this run that I directly broke the school record. Since then, I was selected by the coach, and my coach began to take me to professional training.

Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

Under the guidance of my teacher and through my hard work, I won the Men’s 400m Championship and Men’s 200m Runner-Up in Shenzhen Track Competition in Year 12. In these two events, I broke the school’s records and reached the standard of national second-level athletes. Throughout my four-year high school life, I was the champion of 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, and 4x400m games and broke all school records on High school Sports Day.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Find a good coach and therapist with enough supplements like creatine and BCAA in training to achieve maximum strength.

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person whom you are grateful for who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My Coach David Sadkin provided me with much professional guidance for my training and introduced me to a lot of foreign learning materials, which helped me gradually become a too elite athlete.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I hope my success will cause more young Asian athletes to train and love sprinting

Do you have a favourite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Trust the process, trust yourself.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?

My parents had always given me the most excellent support, especially during the study abroad period when I spent much money, and at the same time, it takes a lot of time and money to find a high-quality coach. A high-quality therapist requires a lot of time and money. I am very grateful for their support for my athlete’s career
