Interview with Brett Macaluso (@brmac19)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

My love for finance brought me towards this path of career. I started following the daily news related to the current business and finance affairs and that ultimately influenced my decision to become a finance graduate and work in this field.

Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I get to travel a lot which means seeing exciting things on daily basis. There are countless places that are a treat to look at, but my favourite part of travelling is seeing all the beautiful animals in the world.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

As the Head of US Accounts, it’s my job to be always attentive and on my toes with the new statistics and information on the database. It’s natural to feel down and overworked which is why taking breaks and indulging in productive energizing activities is very vital for humans. So, relax and take a break when you feel like the pressure is too much!

None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family and my lovely partner play an important role in my life. They help me be motivated, give me purpose and help me to become a better version of myself!

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I love charity and the concept of giving more if you have enough. I have experienced what real financial struggle looks like, so I am always open to giving money to people to need it!

Do you have a favourite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“When money realizes that it is in good hands, it wants to stay and multiply in those hands.” We are often told it’s all lucky to have good money, and I agree with that. However, I also believe profit generation is in our hands and brains too. This quote helps me see problems in a different way than just a burden.
