Interview with Brandon Azzolini (@therealbrandd)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I always knew I wanted to help the planet, just didn’t know how. One day I was walking in Beverly hill when I ran in to an old friend who worked at at the ocean clean up. One thing led to another and now I’m on the leadership team
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
My team and I were on a boat. We dropped anchor and decided to go for a swim when a school of dolphins came up to us and swam with us. One even let me hold on to his fin and took me for a ride. Single most incredible experience of my life.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Have fun with it. Doing anything in life will become tedious and exhausting unless you add a bit of fun to it. It’ll without a doubt make you love what you do, which makes it even more fun.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My mother. She’s always been my rock, my motivation, and my support system whenever I needed it. She always taught me to help other and respect the earth. I feel this has had a major impact on why I do what I do.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Over the course of my tenure I have facilitated in the cleanup of over 110 tons of ocean trash. I’ve learned so much and I continually try to educate everyone I meet. Every inch adds up to a mile.
Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
““If not us, who? If not now, when” – JFK. It’s relevant to me because that’s the one quote I think about every day. We can’t wait for others to solve our problem. We have to simply put our boots on and do it ourselves.
