Interview with Bourke Floyd (@bourke_floyd)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I was always something of a performer, sometimes as class clown, sometimes as Student Government Officer or morning announcements host, even singing in church I wanted to entertain the people around me. Who knows where that all originated, likely something to do with the upbringing that I will never fully understand. Long story short acting is always in me so I decided to take it as a career.
Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?
The most interesting thing is when I played the role of Marcus. Marcus is an absolute loon. He is way out there. I think what I related to, what I used and applied to Marcus, that actually is me, are the parts where Marcus is in an awkward situation, what would be an awkward situation, what would be uncomfortable, and how he pivots and tries to apply charm to smooth over something, even though he’s oblivious to the reality of the situation that he’s the awkward thing.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
There would be circumstances where that would be really difficult in your career path. There are certainly challenges to it. But be focus on your work and always try to think positive and ignore the rest.
None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
My family is my biggest support and because of them, I’m here. My wife and son always motivate me and after the break of 11 years from the industry, I come back only because of my fans and family.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Acting has recently on of the most popular careers among youngsters. Every second individual wishes to work as a media actor or in Hollywood. It is also necessary to have the most incredible talents to become a successful actor. I tried to motivate people and guide them to the right path because I love to help new folks. I am eager to explore new parts since stepping outside of my comfort zone allows me to improve.
Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
This is the most inspiring quote in my life that always motivates me.
