Interview with Aws Ismail @awsismail

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Having been in recruitment for over 10 years, I now wish I was involved at even a younger age. The feeling of joy when you find someone a job never gets old. I have always been a social person and decided that I wanted to use my social skills in my career. Recruitment is exactly that, build relationships and help individuals into employment. A few years later I decided to set up a recruitment agency which now I can proudly say is the biggest technology recruitment company in the Middle East. My self and my business partners set out with a vision of focusing on providing the perfect employment journey for both those looking for work as well and companies looking for people.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?

I have won leader of the year in the recruitment industry, this was honestly a humbling experience. I won it due to my services in the recruitment sector during covid, where I set up a free of charge helpline for anyone who was out of a job due to the pandemic. We assisted them with free CV reviews as well as upskilling and training programs.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Enjoy what you do! It’s that simple, if you love your work and the output of your work you will not mind the hard work and the pain that comes along the input.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

Yes I can say my brother and business partner Zaid Alhiali, he has been a fundamental person in my journey so far, we have been pillars to each other’s success stories and will always have each other’s back.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

The free helpline we offered to the UAE and the rest of the world was thanks to the experience we gained over the years and the ability to reach a wide audience. We helped many people see that there was light at the end of the tunnel as well as helped others get back into employment.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Money is the side affect of success. I have always focused on being successful at what I do and for that reason emphasised on providing the best quality of service to all our clients and candidates. The focus on success has allowed us to grow to the size we are today.
