Interview with Ashley Curtis (@agelessashley)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

It was always my dream to be a forever student and be a researcher. However, studying doesn’t pay the bills. I went into my bachelor’s in biochemistry with a vague idea of what to do with my life but no solid plan. Eventually, after completing my degree, I started working towards the path of creating my own skincare business. I worked for quite a few dermatologists and plastic surgeons to learn all I needed to know. And now I run my own skincare business.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Always focus on learning. Never stop and think of yourself as an expert on every single thing. This is why being a “forever student” should be everyone’s motto. I don’t treat my profession as a job, rather as a learning environment. I constantly update myself on new things. This is how nothing gets repetitive and every new day is a fresh start.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

My family, friends, and my teachers. I am most grateful to them.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I believe making people feel confident in their own skin and doing my job with full dedication and commitment is the best thing I can offer right now. I don’t lack any respect and am always honest with my clients and my profession.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

“We need women who are so strong they can be gentle, so educated they can be humble, so fierce they can be compassionate, so passionate they can be rational, and so disciplined they can be free.”

This quote simply describes and encompasses everything I aspire to be in my life.
