Interview with Aqeel Ginowrie (@adventureraqeel)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

As a teenager, growing up in the “hood” i was luckily able to surround myself by people doing better than me, way better than me. Seeing their achievements, their motivation, their discipline. All of that they were able to pass onto me which has led me to get serious and take life more seriously and get work done.

Can you share the most interest in exciting happened to you since you started doing this?

There are quite a few and only some that I can share but one interesting one is during my table tennis days. I used to compete in table tennis and enter tournaments and my club was and still is sponsored by big firms such as goldman sachs, blackrock and etc. due to my achievements I was invited to the opening of our grand centre in marleybone and there I was able to meet at the time Prince Harry and Prince william of england.

I am in the video below being shown greeting the princes

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

Definitely know when to take a break and create a routine that allows you to enter deep work for a few hours. After that go live your life for the day. Eat healthy. Sleep enough and go work out and most importantly make sure you are surrounded by the right individuals . People that are good for your mental space. Trading and sports can be really mentally exhausting so dont over do it.

None of us can succeed without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

I am grateful towards many people but one of them is my friend. He showed me the possibilities of this craft and showed to me that It was possible if we keep on trying and eventually through hard work it will happen

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I donate to charity every now and then I am looking to donate more and fund opening schools in countries that need them once I am more successful

Do you have a favorite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

You should never play victim to your circumstances, you are dealt very specific cards, therefore play them correctly
I used to have a very bad victim mentally but once you realise that there are people in the world that truly have nothing, it humbles you and encourages you to work harder
