Interview with Aqeeb @ (aqeebfarooq)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I was 16 at the time and I was desperate to have money as I was born up with having to earn my own money, I used to hang out with my friends at the park and one day I mentioned an idea of selling on ebay to make money. I tried the idea out and it went really well so I came back to my friends and mentioned I wanna help others by starting an online mentoring program… it took me a few months to start it up and then I used social media to my advantage and promoted it to my followers and from there it took off to over 280 clients currently
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
During the coronavirus period, I was helping out my clients with their ebay… I then got approached by businesses to help expand on ebay as many people moved to online shopping. So I now help businesses expand online to ebay and help with their listings, this has allowed me to build my network of entrepreneurs and business owners
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Do not give up on your ideas as one day it will happen. Face the problems that come and don’t leave them till later on as that only makes things worse, also try having a plan for everything you want to achieve.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Yess I have donated to charities across the world, I have done 3 ebay challenges where I donate all the profit to a charity chosen by my Instagram followers
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I would always hang out with my best friend called hasan, he motivated me to start and whenever I had a problem he would always help in any way possible. When I first started my online mentoring program, it was hard to get clients but with his help it slowly started growing and clients kept coming in.
Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create“ this quote has helped me from the start of my ebay journey, I had problems with having people sign up… so instead of worrying about that I used social media to start off promoting to people interested in business
