Interview with Aloe (@evanaloee)

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I am a 15-year-old musician from Redmond, Washington. Since I was little, I’ve liked music ever since I’ve always been interested in being famous and loving music. When I was in kindergarten, I did acting classes and produced music on the side. I always just had a passion for the spotlight. Ever since then, I’ve always made music. Whether it be on the piano, the iPad, or just on my Mac, I’ve always just made music.
Can you share the most exciting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
The most exciting story is when I was chilling by myself in my bedroom, and I got a call from one of my friends saying go to the Official Lyrical lemonade playlist, made by famous rapper Lil Skies and a playlist with almost 70,000 followers with the Instagram with a fanbase of 4.5 million followers. The song I rapped on, “blood on the leaves,” made it into the playlist. This was huge for me because I would never have expected a random 15-year-old who made music for fun to make it on a nationally known brand playlist.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?
Make music on your own time; whatever you do, do it in your own time. Music is fun to make, do it when you feel and enjoy it. Whenever that is, do it. Don’t stress too much about it; focus on yourself.
None of us can achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I have to credit my collaborators. I would never think I to be near as big as I am now without them; they put me on and put my name up to the world—terms such as BabySantana, yvngxchris, Autumn!, and SoFaygo. I’m very grateful for those people.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I recently started a group called “999-BEVERLY” to help small Underground Rappers get exposure and get noticed; I’m using my platform to promote them and their music so they can eventually one day be as big or even more significant than me.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“In life, you don’t need a lot of friends, just the right ones.” – XXXTENTACION, I’ve always been a people person and somebody everybody would like. Still, I’ve also always been a person that people would tend to be around me only because I’m successful in what I do. So I’ve just kept a close circle; ill be cool with everybody but sick, only be tight with like 3 to 4 people.
