Interview with Ali (@fortem.mgmt)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I’m an entrepreneur I own Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Tropical Smoothie Cafes Franchises along with independently owned restaurants and exotic car rental businesses.
What brought me to this career was my father passing away when I was very young and seeing my brother struggle to keep up the bills and rent. I knew where I was but I always knew I’m Not going to stay in that position to make sure my family and kids doesn’t go through what we went through.
Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started doing this?
The most interesting thing that happened to me since I started this was that I got to meet a lot of individuals some were bad and some great but even the bad ones I took it as a learning experience and never wished bad upon anything and moved on.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I want to tell youngsters or someone who’s starting now to stay hungry and get out of their comfort zone. Work hard now and then work smart after. Honestly and hard work is the key to success. People give up because they don’t see results right away but they forget it’s a long journey.
Always look for long terms benefits even if it takes you years to get there you will have that success forever.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I’m very grateful to my older brother “Malik” as well as my family. He worked hard to make sure to put food on the table. He made me what I am today I followed his footsteps. I always looked up to him and like I said before I knew what position we were in when our father passed away when I was 13 years old and my brother was 15-16 at that time and I always knew I wanted to go the extra mile to make it in life whether it takes years and 15-20 hours of work all day.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
Yes, I believe God has given me so much that is why I started helping people all over the world who needed any help. And officially 2 years ago I started a foundation called “DAK Foundation inc” which helps out all small towns in Pakistan on a monthly based with food, getting clean water, and creating jobs for people. Also in Uganda through a good friend, my foundation is doing a lot of water wells to help get people clean water as dirty water kills millions of people every year. My foundation’s goal is to just help anyone who needs help.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
My Favorite quote is “it’s not about ideas, it’s about making ideas happen” since I was growing up I knew people with ideas talking about 101 things but it was easy to forget about the idea and move on. So what really helped me was to have an idea and give yourself a timeline to make the idea into reality. I always have 2-5 ideas or business plans and give myself a timeframe to convert that idea into a reality.
How can our readers follow you on social media?
My readers can follow me on Instagram which is basically what I’m turning in to motivate people I mostly have my cars on social media and to drive people into the success that if I can do it they can do it also.
