Interview with Alexandra Victoria Bonte (@Alexandra_ Victoria_ Bonte)

Thank you so much for joining us! What brought you to this specific career path?

I am an entrepreneur at heart and always have been. I finished my high school diploma at 16 and went straight into a BBA and MBA majoring Finance as was finished by 21 years old. I started very young at competing in international equestrian shows and was trying out for the Olympic Games of 2012. When this path was no longer possible due to a bad injury and chronic lesions I then began to change course and work in various trading jobs in China, Kuwait and Dubai. Speaking five languages has always come in handy!  After experiencing the world of trading I learnt that this would be my way of income however I wished to combine it with my passion for the service industry and for people & community living.  After having lived two years in Portugal I realized there was tremendous opportunity for growth in the real estate field and a serious lack of efficient services. This lead me to setting up my own real estate company in 2014 at 26 years old. I then partnered with my closest childhood friend in 2016 whilst pregnant with my first child. This agency today known as bonte Filipidis makes annual sales of over 140M € in Portugal alone. We have now branched to Ibiza, the French Riviera, London and Paris and have 28 employees.

Today I believe strongly in helping others and inspiring others. I am self made and it’s not always been an easy journey. I’m an entrepreneur, an athlete, a before dawn riser, a mother, a feminist, a wife and beyond all I have a spiritual desire to help my community be brought together. I love real estate because I love brining people together. I love helping expats find their way. I believe that together we are happier and stronger and can accomplish so much more in life. When I arrived in portugal I felt very alone, very misplaced. A kind woman, now a
Good friend not only offer me a job but introduced me to her community. This led me to want to always do the same and never have anyone feel alone or left out.

I am now a director of the woman’s Indian / luso chamber of commerce WICCI and on board for various non profit organizations mainly focusing around female empowerment. We as expats need to come together to make a difference.

I am an investor and partner of a successful venture capital fund (goldenestatefcr) which helps me be strongly implemented in Portugal as we offer high end residential and commercial real estate throughout the country.

I am a real estate developer in Portugal and am developing a fully eco-sustainable communitarian living project concept by the ocean.

Once my financial goals are reached in the next few years I am planning to get involved in social housing development projects in Portugal as I believe there is a serious lack in the country for beautiful, high quality homes for locals that can no longer afford to live in the city because of such strong foreign investment and real estate price surges.

My goals are to inspire, educate, motivate and uplift my followers, my peers, my family & by doing so I’m enriching my own life.

Travel, sports, animals and music are also my passion and I wish to share this with the world and open up their eyes to how amazing our world can be.

Can you share the most interest in exciting things that have happened to you since you started doing this?

The most meaningful story was a lesson learned. I was very angry at a client for having rented a house with an another agent although I had showed it to him. I had drafted an angry email explaining that what he did was wrong and how anyway I wasn’t involved in rentals but in sales. I took a deep breath, erased my email and sent a lovely email wishing him well and offering my help for any advice he and his wife required. Two years later he contacted me and bought the most expensive property I had sold at that time. He has then carried on to be a very close friend and has referred our best clients purchasing the most expensive homes.

Lesson learned: stop… think… breath.. reflect… take action

vWhich tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them thrive and not “burn out”?

I would recommend really doing what makes you happy. If you enjoy what you do and make it a game then you will never feel frustrated or “burnt out”. It’s seeing the glass half full.

We can only succeed with some help along the way. Is there a particular person you are grateful to who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

There are many..

1. My business coaches Claudia and Jody who have changed my mindset through practices of neuroscience, holistic approaches such as ayawasca and meditation.

2. My family who have supported my career path and allowed me to fail, pick myself up and thrive.

3. Some random encounters in life such a client, a person met at a nightclub, a cab driver.  these people  used certain quotes and words that really stood by me and I’ve used in my meditation. I believe in manifestation as I’m a manifestor.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

When I became successful I wished for others to succeed. I’m a strong believer in financial independence especially for women. I began to hire women in my community that were “trapped” in their lives not knowing their self worth and potential. I want to show these women and men that you can do anything you set your mind to. I want to inspire them to be better versions of themselves. There is no such thing as dreaming too big!

I also believe in the community and bringing people together. I am a real estate developer and recently have converted to fully eco-sustainable materials and community living project concepts. This brings people together over planting seeds, growing produce, harvesting it, uniting over music, meditation and awareness of the planet. This goes hand in hand with real estate by bringing people together (the events I curate, the advice that I provide) and developing sustainable materials for the planet and back to basics communitarian living.

Do you have a favourite “written Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

Credere.. lottare.. vincere. Never give up even if you believe that you are sinking. Look up, there is always light.

How can our readers follow you on social media?

Anything specific you’d like to have mentioned in the article?

I want to make it known that I’m a visionary and wish to help inspire others with my lifestyle and by showing my public the beauties of real estate, of portugal, of Ibiza and some incredible travel destinations & extraordinary events. This is the life that I live and if I did it, anyone can! May the sky be your limit.
