Interview Ronald James (@ronaldjames)
Thank you so much for doing this interview with us! Could you tell us about yourself?
Hello, Thank you so much for having me. I am Ronald James, a global photographer working from New York, Milan, and Shanghai.
Can you tell our readers about how you started this journey?
I was raised in Milan, where a profusion of fashion and photography surrounded me. I spent my adolescent years running around sets of renowned photographers such as Bruce Weber, Chris von Wagenheim, and Herb Ritts. I did try other jobs, but nothing felt right. So, it was then when I decided to follow my dreams.
Were there any artists that inspired you to be where you are now?
Yes, I think the reason I have more polished skills now is that I was heavily inspired by artists such as Joe Eula and Ron Ferri.
Do you have any tips for our readers who want to be a photographer?
Be true to yourself. There is nothing more daring you could do than take photos that tells a story about yourself, not what is trendy. Only then can you be a renowned artist.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you also tell us why it is so special?
My favorite quote is, “Life is like an echo. What you sow is what you reap.” This is the only quote that made me go through tough times. Even now, when things get complicated, this quote is what makes me endure it all.
How can our readers follow you on social media?
You can follow me on my Instagram @ronaldjames or any other social media under the same name.
