Interview @ Katie Andelman (katie.andelman)
Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?
I started photography twelve years ago on my sixtieth birthday. It became an artistic way of doing something that I loved. I was working with real estate before that and I just knew photography was the career that was calling my name. I’m lucky that it all worked out.
Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?
I would always advise people to take time off and rest. I rest between work and spend time with my family. It always manages to make me feel better.
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?
I would always be grateful to my family, my son, my daughter, my daughter in law and two granddaughters. They have always supported me and I will always have a lot of love for them.
How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?
I try to make sure that my work has meaning and makes a positive contribution to the society. I work hard to tell stories with a limited budget. I hope my work brings some goodness in the world.
Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?
“Value your time. It is your most precious resource.” It is one of the few things in life that can never come back no matter what you do. It reminds me to value it and move forward.
